looks like there’s no stopping the vatican from plunging into mainstream high technology as they recently had a deal with google for the pope’s own channel.
this came after Pope Benedict XVI has setup his own you-tube space as well a facebook account.
the pope welcomes these new technologies as a “gift” for these mediums are answers to the “fundamental desire” of people to communicate. but he also warns that “obsessive” virtual socializing may isolate people from the real intricacies of the world.
