google‘s jeff dean, also shared some growth numbers from 1999 to 2009 and that while both search queries and processing power have gone up by a factor of 1000, latency has gone down from around 1000ms to 200ms.
IT PINOY‘s, in a snapshot this is how google works –
every time you perform a query, it will hit it’s server farm which is around 700 – 1000 machines across different google data centers before returning the search results on your screen – and the whole process takes just less than a second!
