Official YouTube Philippines Site Launched!
as an affirmation how the many online PINOYs have embraced technology and the web via clogging social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, today a localized version of YouTube was launched in the Philippines, a first in south-east asia.
YouTube Philippines (http://www.youtube.com/user/PHYouTube) offer collated videos that are relevant to filipinos and now serve as a venue where all may upload and share their creativity (PINOYs are said to be one of the highest daily averages users in the world).
“The Philippine online population is even bigger than the actual population of most countries in Southeast Asia,” Julian Persaud, managing director for Google Southeast Asia said.
also launched were the presidential channels from Pres. Noynoy Aquino III‘s Official Gazette (www.youtube.com/govph) – the main portal for the Philippine Government and www.youtube.com/rtvmalacanang (the government’s official broadcast arm).
